What Makes a Good Beach Cart?

Summertime is almost here, which means it’s time to hit the beach! But before you do, you’ll need a good beach cart to haul all your gear. So what features make the best beach carts in Australia?

A good beach cart should be sturdy and durable. It should be able to withstand being loaded up with all your beach essentials, including coolers, chairs, umbrellas, and towels. Both metal and wooden carts can be sturdy if constructed well.

Metal can rust while wood can rot, so it’s important to make sure that both materials are finished with a protective coating or glazing which prevents them from environmental damage.

Large Wheels

Beach carts should also have large wheels that can handle sand and other rough terrains. The bigger the wheels the easier the cart will roll on sand. Carts with smaller wheels might be cheaper, but you’ll be wishing you bought the one with the largest wheels after you do your first trip – it can get really tiresome pulling a fully loaded cart!

Easy Assembly

Another important consideration is how easily the cart can be set up. You don’t want to spend your entire day at the beach wrestling with a complicated assembly process. Look for a beach cart that can be quickly set up and taken down. Foldable carts are usually made out of metal and are super easy to store when not in use.

The Right Size

A beach cart should be big enough to carry all your beach gear, but not so big that it’s difficult to maneuver. When it comes to finding the perfect beach cart, size matters. The ideal beach cart is also tall enough to avoid getting sand caught in the wheels, but not so tall that it’s difficult to load into the trunk of a car.

Good Handle

A good handle on a beach cart is another crucial element. It should be easy to grip and comfortable to hold. Often beach cart handles can be used to change the direction of the wheels – this is a must in any good beach cart, as it will make it much easier to maneuver!

Sometimes multiple handles are included – one on either end. This is a convenient feature that negates the need to turn the wagon around. This can prevent a lot of frustration when trying to turn a fully loaded wagon on sand – not an easy feat.

Plenty of Storage

When it comes to beach carts, one of the most important factors to consider is storage space. A good beach cart should have plenty of room to store all your beach gear, from towels and sunscreen to umbrellas and chairs. This way, you can pack everything you need for a day at the beach without having to worry about leaving anything behind.

Some beach arts also have extra storage pockets. This is a great feature, as it allows you to store cups, bottles, and even finishing rods in pockets on the outside of the cart. Sometimes zip-up pockets are also included – which are great for storing keys and phones.

Every good beach cart has a canopy. These are great because they can keep both the rain and the sun out – keeping everything in your cart in top condition. This is especially useful if you’re hauling cold drinks and you want to keep them cool in the summertime! It can also be used to keep the kids out of the sun as they hitch a ride from Dad!

Easy to Clean

A good beach cart should be easy to clean, so you can keep it looking at its best. This is especially important if you plan on using it frequently. There are a few things to look for when choosing a beach cart that will be easy to clean.

One thing to look for is a removable liner. This will make it easy to take out and clean separately from the rest of the cart. Something else to consider is how easy it is to access all the nooks and crannies of the cart. You want to be able to reach everything in order to clean it properly. Finally, think about what material the cart is made of. Some materials are easier to wipe down than others.

If you take these factors into consideration when purchasing a new beach cart or wagon, you will not be disappointed.
