This post will review the Sportztrek Happy Camper Hooded Single Sleeping Bag. These bags were recently ‘on special’, 70% off, and our kids had grown out of the smaller bags, so we decided to give these a try.
SportzTrek Happy Camper Sleeping Bag
These bags were recently in a catalog for $30, down from $100, at 70% off. Though I was not convinced that it was a ‘real’ discount, I was interested to see what we would get for $30.

Features
- Large hood
- Velcro tab at top of zip to keep bag closed while all
- Left and Right hand side zip configuarations available
This is obviously a simple bag, as the website lists things like ‘can be unzipped to use as a quilt’ and ‘carry bag included’ which are universal features of all sleeping bags.
Filling
The SportzTrek Happy Camper is filled with 300gm Hollow-core fiber.
Dimensions
80cm wide, 190cm tall (220cm with hood).
Temperature Rating
According to the wording on the bag, it is comfortable at 0 degrees Celcius and could be used in -5 degrees Celcius at the extreme.
Having spent some time in these, I would definitely say 0 degrees would be the minimum I would want to test. For anything colder, I would make sure I had some other blankets with me.

Summary
No doubt this is a ‘cheap’ sleeping bag, and absolutely not worth the $100 it claims to be valued at but for $30 it is great if you are just experimenting with camping, or maybe to have as a spare for when having camping guests.
If you are a frequent camper, and likely to be exposed to very cold temperatures then I would recommend you invest in something of higher quality.
